Guide
Signature generator: choose a name length and script
Enter the form of your name that you would actually use: a first name, initials, or a first name with a surname. A shorter version leaves room for the loops and connecting strokes common in script styles; a longer name lets you see whether the letters stay legible as they join. Try the same spelling in several styles before choosing one. If a capital letter looks too ornate or a final stroke crowds the edge, a different script or shorter name may suit the intended space better.
Choose an ink color that remains distinct from the background where the image will appear. Transparent output can sit over a colored email, document or web page, while a white background is useful when the destination expects a solid rectangle. For an email signature, save the PNG at a larger size and let the mail app display it smaller; this gives the app more pixels to work with on high-resolution screens. Check the result in the destination itself because email clients can handle images differently.
The tool exports a PNG image of the rendered name; it does not create a typeable font or verify a signer’s identity. You may use the signature PNG for personal or commercial purposes. If you need to type with a font in other applications, open its font page to see the available downloads and review the AIFontGenerator Font License for that font. Keep the image and font file distinction in mind when choosing what to place in a document or send to someone else.
FAQ
Common questions
- Does a signature image count as a legally binding e-signature?
- That depends on the document and the rules where it will be used. Some electronic-signature services accept typed or drawn marks, but this PNG is not verified and cannot establish who created it. Use an appropriate signing process for important documents and check the applicable requirements before relying on an image as a signature.
- May a business use the signature PNG?
- Yes. The generated signature image may be used for any purpose, including a company email, invoice or package design. The permission applies to the PNG image; if you download and use a font file separately, follow the license shown on that font’s page.
- When should I save the signature on white?
- Choose transparency when the signature needs to sit over an existing color or document. Choose white if the destination does not handle transparent pixels as expected, or if it shows them as a checkerboard or dark area. If you are unsure, place the downloaded PNG in the target app and inspect it before sending or printing.
- Does my typed name leave this browser?
- No. The browser uses the selected font to draw your name and creates the PNG on your device. The name and resulting image are not uploaded by this tool.
